My grandsons teacher has two kids. Her sister passed away and she got her sisters kids, two I think. Then her other sister went to jail and left her with another litter of kids,I think four this time.Anyway because of all these kids she had to give up her house here in town and move back to her old house in Somerset. While she was away from the old house it got vandalized, and in disrepair.
We are going to make some repairs to the house, sheetrock, windows, rotten floors and front porch, doors etc.We would also like to do some cleanup in the yard. From what I`ve been told there is quite a bit of junk, weeds, tall grass, the usual.
So anybody that has a weedeater, mower, chain saw, gloves and a willingness to work,or special skills would be very much appreciated. We are trying to get a dumpster donated because its that bad.
This will happen Saturday the 31st.I`ll get a time and address or meeting place later this week or early next week.
How big is the yard? I have a small tractor with a bucket and shredder. Is this an over kill? I have to do some clean up at a rent house in Pleasanton that same morning, but I can stop by around 11:00 am with tractor and trailer.
Rebecca Thompson is a school teacher at Rainbow Hills Baptist School. Mrs. Thompson has been our teacher for approximately 2 years. She has always gone above and beyond for us and made sure that our son passed every subject. Mrs. Thompson has tutored him as well as others thru out the past 2 summers; she also tutors every day after school. All of this she has done has been done out of the kindness of her heart. She has dedicated her life to her Church, her friends and her family with no reservations at all.
Now is our opportunity to be there for Mrs. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson’s sister passed away leaving behind 6 of her nieces and nephews, her current loving arrangements were just not big enough for all of them. She has found a place, which is in need of some fixing up. Looking for volunteers and donations of all sorts will be greatly appreciated. (Clothes, food, materials) Anything will help. Items may be dropped at our office, or call Ima Gene Sturgis @ 210-675-6003. We are working at here house Jan. 31 2008. We will meet at Pizza Hut in Somerset, TX at 9.00 am..

I would like to send a certified check from my bank for 100.00 to Mrs.Thompson to help out.
can you get me an address for her so i can send it to her.
Any school supplys would be welcome I`m sure.As far as sending money,I will deal with you on a PM basis.I want to protect her privacy as much as I can.Gift certificates to Home Depot are also an option. There is broken windows, doors that don`t work, floors that need a lot of love, sheetrock falling off the cieling, etc etc. This work weekend is only part of it,me and some of the guys from work will be going out there evenings and weekends for awhile.
Can anyone bring an Air-Acetelene torch (type with hose) for me to solder the copper? I have the refillable Acetelene cylinders but my trubo torch died last year.
Also will probably need lots of card board. It will probably be a muddy mess under the floor.
