Yeah I posted in here cause you guys always have the biggest turn out and IF i decided to go would like to tag along if cool with ya'll.
Some questions..
Whats the official date this year?
Do you have to pay?
Do the hotels run out of rooms?
Are there any crazy vehicle requirements I need to know about?
How far is the wheeling from las cruces?
If I didn't ask something that should have been let me know. Not for sure I'm going but would like to. Thanks! :toast:
I'm sure that Chile Challenge would be up for discussion. I'd like to see a group go to the Superlift Park in Arkansas. I think diversity is a good thing in terms of going to the different parks and having fun. But I'd go to Chile even if it I was just a rider and taking pics. Sounds like fun.
i bet its big fun.. oh and i got my call back from the paladuro jeep club there flier says no cry babies but they seem to be the ones doing all the whinning.. no tube buggies..
its way fun, here is 2010s web site, still not updated, lots of good times!!!
yes you pay, was $110 includes 4 days wheeling, 2 tickets for friday night meal & 2 for sat.
hotels dont do too bad, if you book early, there are showers @fairgrounds you can camp, & RV.
They require a tech inspection, mainly for oil leaks & stuff, lockers, winch, lift & proper tires for applicable trails.
drive to the trail head from the fairgrounds is 10-25 miles, depending on applicable trail, most of the trails have parking for truck/trailer if you wish to haul.
Not to take anything away from the Chile Challenge, But if you are going to make the drive that far just buck up and head further west to the Meca known as the hammers. I drive right on through cruses heading to KOH when everyone is out there.
I would like to go to KOH but if I did I would want to race. jamminzz
Been having my eye on going to las cruces for a while just hope I can make it this year. Evan told me to sell a kidney so I'm going to look into that today. chrfal
Its funny this topic came up, yesterday morning I was talking to a friend about going in 2011. We made plans to attend the CC in 2009, but things didnt work out.
If you have never heard of the Chile Challenge, it is a family oriented off road event that includes trails from mild to extreme. The event has been named one of the top ten in the country by JP Magazine.
It is four days of guided trail rides through some of the best trails in southern New Mexico. The event is the Winter Quarterly meeting for the Southwest Four Wheel Drive Association and includes wheeling, socializing, food, fun, and capped off with a big fund raising raffle that benefits the SWFWDA. There are some great prizes every year.
