Please know that George is a great guy and his dad, who i also met, is funnier than heck. I just wanna try and resolve a deal that wasnt completed. I recently moved from California to Texas to get married and start school all in january, i love rock crawling and had to sell my crawler litterally days before i moved here just a month ago. Now im starting to gather parts to Axle swap my Tacoma. Being a poor 22 year old who just started work and is saving for school and the wedding and broke after the move half way accross the country, i contact george (gq91sammy) to see if he'd be interested in tradding an old dana 44 he had for some stuff i had laying around. So in the end he agreed on trading his dana 44 (with blown stock gears) but also 4.89 gears, carrier, and lock rite (none of which was installed) for a full set of 90% tread 33x12.5r15 MT's on nice deep offset wheels, a set of the large shop size Oxy/Acet bottles, a napa floor jack, and a nice dewalt angle grinder. The bottle were at the place i moved into and i didnt know much about them (george didnt mind). The dewalt ran like new (its a dewalt). The napa floor jack i didnt have very long and aparently he was angry cause it didnt hold cars up very long, well i didnt know that because i only used it to jack them up long enough to slide jack stands under and then i take it out. And the tires tread wise were nearly brand new,but they were old and always stored on my crawler at around 15psi and one had a bubble (george was fully aware of this) i also informed him that they would be great offroad but i would not run them on the street.

I was perfectly fine with this agreement, loaded all the stuff up into my taco and drove 1.5hrs from blanco to his shop in south san antonio. When i get there we unload my stuff and check everything out, he's a really nice guy and so is his dad and they were both a big help. We unload the tires from my truck and put them into his truck and he says to me something along the lines of "the tire looks worse than i thought, so im gonna keep the lock rite locker", he just backed out of one of the biggest parts of his trade for something he already knew about but you know what, i didnt wanna argue and i honestly wasnt planning on running a front locker anyways so i tell him ok. he and his dad remove the 4.89 ring gear from the carrier with lock rite and good bearings and give me just the ring gear. He says he's just gonna leave the lock rite in that carrier and send me another carrier. i didnt want to leave without a carrier but he said the other ones he has are far and not at the shop, i give him my address and im on my way.

this all took place over two weeks ago and he has not responded to any of my texts, all i got was an angry PM about the jack not working and one of the other tires having a small bulge (which i never saw). Sorry for the long story guys, i hope George (he is a nice guy and busy im sure) isnt offened by this as i have tried to reach out to him multiple times. I just want my carrier, my build is at a stand still right now because i have not received the carrier. Id add photos of trade items and conversations but idk how.

Gq91sammy, if i have to drive all the way down to San Antonio again just to pick up the carrier i will, just tell me what i need to do. if i need to pay for shipping fine just get back to me please. :toast: and i honestly would do business with him again, hes got tons of good stuff and good prices.

Thanks, Holden

This was my response to your pm..

The description of your stuff to trade was very inaccurate, the oxygen tank had an obvious bad valve, ( looked like somebody beat it with a hammer). The acetylene tank was missing the cap, you mentioned this when you were half way here ( no big deal really). The tires were dry cracked, ( no big deal, I've used dry cracked tires before) then one had a bubble. You had already driven down here so I tried to make the deal even, I still took a set of 4 tires, one with a bubble. After taking the tires to the tire shop to have them removed from the wheels the tire shop guy said that two of the tires have bubbles, ( great ) and that two of the wheels where not good because the holes are whallerd out. As for the jack it won't hold a car up for more than 5 min without bleading down. My dad has not tried the grinder, I hope it works well. I will get you a carrier but don't expect any extra effort from me...

The description of your parts to trade is about as good as the description of our transaction... I took back the lock right because your "set" of tires was now 3 tires.. A set is worth way more than 3 tires, specially when these tires are no longer available. Not to mention I ended up with 2. You wanted to keep the grinder to even out the trade. Which I agreed to.. I then later traded you a "set" of (four) 15x8 8 lug wheels with rock rings for your grinder..only cause you said you could use the wheels...

youre right, i did not mention the wheels for the grinder. but you also wanted to trade the wheels for the grinder because you were giving it to your father, it wouldnt have made a difference to me if i ended up with the grinder or wheels. Hopefully you realize that i gave you the best description of the stuff as i possibly could, and in no way did i know about the other tire or was trying to get the best of you. like i told you, they were on a trail only rig. I apoligize for my stuff not being as good as either of us thought (not being sarcastic at all). What would you like me to do? where are we at with the carrier? You helped me out cause i would not have been able to sell that stuff way out in Blanco and im thankful for that.

Sounds like to me he took in crap in trade for good useful parts. You got a housing and gears. What parts were these? Sounds like he did you a favor. He could have turned you away for inaccurate parts descriptions. 15x8 8 lug wheels are worth way more than a grinder that may or may not work.
Dollar for dollar I wouldnt have done the trade with you.

No need to return trades... I told you the carrier was at a friends house that is 35 miles away, I haven't been by there since we did the trade, I will run down and pick up the carrier some time this week, you can pick it up this weekend for sure. I will let you know the minute I have it in my hands so if you have the time to come sooner you can come get it..

George is a friend, but don't think I'm rallying behind him blindly, and ganging up on the new guy. An honest question, how much time did you allow him to respond before posting this? He is a busy man, and from the outside looks like he got the raw end. Did you call, or just text him? Why didn't you post your interaction, so there's no he said she said? Screen shot your conversation, and upload to photobucket, plus copy pms. Even if a part wasn't 100%, I can say a simple phonecall was all it took. I still believe it was an honest mistake, and he took care of it. I think we've had around 10 interactions so far, and all went well, wouldn't hesitate to do business again.

Sleepsontoilet, the trade was two and a half weeks ago and I still don't have the carrier but I know George is a good guy and a busy guy and he said he'll get it to me soon so I'm trusting him on that. You're right though, I should've called as well. I'm honestly not fond of trades and this was my first ever, most time it's been cash only. I'd have no problem buying something off George, he has some good stuff. I think I'm mostly annoyed because I can't do anything else on my build till I get that carrier and I was a little impatient and George wasn't contacting me so I got frustrated and I apologize for that George.

Have done multiple dealings with George in the past and present. I have never had any problems and will continue to do buisness in the future.
