Pony up for some new non-neck down inners and some alloy shafts for the front. Before the RCVs I ran some stock non-neckdown inners and USA Alloy 35-spline stubs with Spicer U-joints. They held up just fine to my right foot.

Mine came with neck-downs in it also. They are now trail spares, and I put non-neck inners with Spicer 35-spl stubs, non-greaseable ujoints and slugs. I'm going to see how long they last, and I'm not easy on them. I wanted to figure out whether I need to go with CrMo or not. I had so much invested in building the thing by then, I want to be sure.

Thanks. That is some good information. I may run these to begin with for the time being. If I still have some leftover cash

Did a little more work on the axle last night. I got the knuckles and hubs pulled off and apart. The lower kingpin trunnions need to be replaced. The king pins look good. I'm going to order the bearings and seals tomorrow. Then off the the blaster to get cleaned up after a little more trimming.

If you need any rebuild parts, east coast gear supply has everything you need.

Extreme Axle Sales

Every now and then they have better prices here, but I usually go with Chase too.

Those trunions don't look bad. You can't clean them up with emery cloth?

That is the weekend project. I held off on ordering new parts until I check everything out. The drivers side hub needs to be taken apart too. It is locked up good. It was packed with grease but some water came out on disassembly.

I really want to the arms that You listed Alex. I don't think they will work with the wheels I have. The BS on the wheels I have is around 5.5 inches. I worry that the extended nub on the arms will be eating into the inner lip of my wheels. I'm at a standstill on those for now.

I got a good start on cleaning up all of the unneeded bracketry tonight. Just a little more grinding to go.

I ordered my Detroit for my 14B tonight as well. Should be able to drop everything off next week to get installed. Then it's on to pulling my rear axle.

I figured out why the passenger side hub didn't want to turn.

Time to find a spindle and order some bearings and seals.

That may be just a little too much 'character' on that spindle to be happy with.

Here is a used spindle on Ebay
Dana 60 Front Axle Spindle Kingpin Dodge Chevy GMC SRW Single Wheel K30 K3500 | eBay

Since your rebuilding the front end. Get rid of the spindle bearings and run some of longfield's spindle bushings that replace all of that ****.

I pulled the other hub apart tonight for the sake if checking the spindle. Much better. Got the hubs and knuckles packed up to drop off at the sand blaster tomorrow.

I'll look into those spindle bushings Alex. Still combing the classifieds and eBay for a D60 spindle. Baby steps for now.

Found a spindle on Pirate. Hopefully it will be here this week so I can clean it up and get it ready to install. I got the hubs and knuckles dropped off to be blasted last week at a local shop by my office.

85 Toyota stepping up to 1 tons

I've been doing some of the busy work as of late waiting on parts.

Burned off the old sliders and cleaned up the frame in preparation for some new ones.

Started on a little body work since I'm going to have some tube there to protect it in the future.

Got my knuckles and hubs blasted and painted.

I need to get the hubs washed out since the are full of media and reassembled. My replacement spindle came in and looks acceptable .

The D60 is fully stripped down and waiting on parts. I dropped the gears/locker off with Ray and Joe to get put together.

I cut a few pieces of DOM and added them to the lower trunnion caps to protect the grease zerks.

I dove into some more sheet metal work and cut out the portion I couldn't get straight. I will have a kickout and some cab protection with my new set of sliders when I get them put on so I decided to put a little more work into it than I originally anticipated.

It won't be perfect by any means but it will look better than it did previously.

Teardown has started. Kingpin rebuild parts are in. Body work on the xtra cab portion is just about complete.

Waiting in the 14b from Ray. Need to install the rear discs and plumb the brake lines. Hopefully by keeping the wheelbase at 120 my driveshafts will still be able to work. Still looking for a set of tires as well.

Then on to the front...
