New Project Jeep

Haven't posted much or even been out wheeling in forever but I do have a rig that I am slowly working on here and there and eventually it just might grow bigger.

Picked it up Just south of San Antonio and have been playing around with it since. Its a 2000 tj, auto, 4.0 was on propane with a 30 and 35, 4.88s and locked, tube fenders, cage, rockers, 35" tires. I don't know why I am starting this thread but I guess its to see the progression of the pile of junk I have. It is nowhere near as capable offroad as my old rigs but maybe someday it will get there. Rust free and pretty nice tj ........

Picked it up like this.........needed some work but it kinda ran and kinda drove lol. Ugly as sin with plastidip paint and all the ugly green accents. It needed suspension work and engine work on the propane.

So I scored a deal on a complete set of metalcloak arms to replace the suspension, also bought a metalcloak trackbar and repainted parts black here and there along with peeling off most of plastidip. Also highlined the existing tube fenders and bought new genright rear corner armor. Bought an 8.8 rear and have a wagoneer 44 front with alloys but plans have changed in the axle department already lol. Throwing the 8.8 in and will sell all the 44 stuff and start gathering the one ton stuff.

Here is various pics of highlines and suspension

Here is the most recent pic

Currently converting back to fuel injection from propane

Things to do......
Chunk from bumper as far as I can and purchase new.......
Finish all painting of everything green to black, repaint hood
Finish the fuel injection swap
Add the ucf flat skid I bought
Add the lift motor mounts I bought (they are nice)
Add the currie steering for front I bought
Throw the 8.8 in rear

Most importantly.........start gathering one ton swap stuff

No pics but we figured out the harness and sensors today and should have it running on factory fuel injection tomorrow.

I also picked up a chevy 5.3 v8 engine but not sure i wanna swap it in the jeep. Kinda want to find a blazer or my dream shortbed Chevy k10 to swap it in...but who knows.

Let me know if you decide to part with that 5.3. I need to start looking for a new motor.

4 straight days of wrenching on it and it runs and drives beautifully on fuel injection again and looks a 1000x times better

Lots to go but its a great start! Need some seatbelts, a windshield, and all lights Working to start driving it more hopefully.

Haven't done much......dogs are taking up all the money lately in vet bills ugh. However I did manage to find some 1 tons to purchase and looking forward to getting those. Been battling a issue with the 2nd injector or the wiring itself and also found the trans dipstick smashed so bad I couldn't get out the dipstick lol. Other than that it got a new fuel pump tps and idle air just in case it needed it and its been running exceptionally good on fuel injection again despite the fuel injector problem.

Not much to report and I don't think anyone cares lol but I did get it running like a top finally!! Replaced all injectors to get rid of 2nd cylinder misfire and replaced the smashed dipstick tube for the transmission and it drove great on the road. I am about to install some jk turn signal housings for my turn signals and install some wiper blades on the new windshield and this thing will almost be ready for inspection and legal on road driving haha

Then its time for the tummy tuck and 8.8 swap.

Installed jk headlight housings and turn signals and installed a currie antirock swaybar. Got all the turn signals and lights working and chased down a crazy starting gremlin. Should get it inspected and at least enjoy driving it some more and then its 1 ton time woohoo!!
