Looks like it's going to be a V8 auto combo. Should have the new independent rear tomorrow. Buddy knows where there's a Jag rear.

CORVAIRWILD just gettin started
The loadside was a dumb idea, and is rare because it didn't sell well. the tailgate is pretty hi to clear the rear engine, and the bed is stepped up about 6". The side ramp was really handy for hand trucking up an appliance or riding up a motorcycle. Too bad the ramp wasn't carried over to the newer pickups, look at all the ramps the aftermarket offers

This is what found: Mine is a 1962 load side according to the description of the truck/vans, there were only 369 made in 1962 and another 2,475 in 1961. Non were produced in any other year.

Found and bought a Jag rear. I also started gathering up the engine parts. 350 010 4 bolt block, steal crank, heads, roller rockers, scorpion intake and this cool engine mount.

Well I bought a C4 Vette. I'm going to go with it instead of the Jag rear. I may start on this thing soon.

It has 84 wheels, but it could be a 90. It all depends on what engine it has/had. Irrelevant, but was just curious.

It's alive

Well a couple things changed since my last post. I pushed it in the shop the day before Thanksgiving.

Got the cooling figured out. I didn't want some bolt on scoop and didn't want to paint anything.

Chopped a coil off the front springs. It sets a lot better.
