Sounds fun. The link you posted is restricted to registered members only.
How's the weather up there, still cold as s***? I was up there for a couple weeks after that big ice storm hit. I was glad to get back to texas where it was a warm 34*. lol

pretty much just cut the top and called it good enough. i still need to work the 2 wires, but havent. it bolts by the first bolt towards the front end on the bed. works real well, and the roll bar makes for easy tarping (to keep cab dry).
today capitalj and i built my grill, installed the tcase brace, i solo'd a few small jobs while cap was welding. i got the wipers to finally work, although they work very slowly, got my heater blower to blow and my shifter linkage fixed so i could use first and second. if my luck holds out the mechanic will fix my carb and she will be ready for this weekend. i am completely jazzed. pics tomarrow

i got the zero-rate installed. moved my front axel forward 1.5". we are goin to snowball right now to check the low range of the new tcase, and need to see what the front tires are gonna rub now that they are forward. the truck looks a bit strange with the wheels that way, but not overly noticably. havent had time to install the mini spool yet, hopefully this week, if it doesnt rain. ill post pics tonight.
i couldnt get the drag link from the controll arm tuned in, so turning left is a three pointer, ill fix it later, i need to go check my junk before it gets dark or rains.

the first thing i noticed as i drove to my buddies house was the increased vibration on the front end. the drivers tire seemed to bounce more. im thinking its from a combination of the sway bar removal, and the front axle being moved forward. when i quits raining im gonna check all the spring bolts to make sure they are tight.
as far as the wheeling, the truck did better than it ever has before. we went on one trail called The Spider Trail, which is a trail that a back hoe made. its basically a bunch of pit like holes, one after another that weave in and out of trees. they really test the flex of your rig. the truck did great. its was awesome not having to floor the gas to go up inclines. i deliberately tried to use as little gas as i could to go up stuff and had almost no problems. while going up a differant trail i lost my front end. this trail was a little used trail. back in the day we used it coming into the area, and we always went down it. its steep, has a tendency to make you lean to one side, and is rock and chat (chat=gravelly by-product of lead mining. we've got a ton of chat here). i got about 3/4 of the way up it when my front end quit turning. i backed down and tried 4 hi, but got only rear end. we had the hubs ingaged, and turned the d-shaft, and the drivers side was turning freely. ive got brand new warn premiums, so i didnt thinkl they would break that easy. since i didnt hear a grenade, i didnt think it was an axle shaft. we bailed and went back to capitalj's shop where we took the allen bolts out of the hub and found out that the spring had moved off center and wasnt letting the hub work. i bent the tab that holds the spring and threaded it back in and installed it. now it works. only thing im out is the loss of wheeling time. weve got a break in the rain right now so ive got to get ready and go back out, i need to climb that hill. the twin stick shifters work great, its really wild being able to have front wheel drive only. i fullly recommend getting them. also the np205 seems to be everything i needed. more reports later.
