Today I prepped the frame for next weekends welding. I wire cupped the whole area, and "V" notched the crack. I got lucky in that the crack on my frame is significantly smaller than the ones I've seen on the web. I am not overly happy with the kit, the holes had big nasty burrs, the plates don't really fit great and the 4 bolt holes are not aligned correctly, which means ill have to do some drilling after its welded in place. I could have saved $10 and bought it somewhere else, but I went with the leader in k5 gear. I do think the kit will be strong as hell, and in the end that's the bottom line.

Looks good.
![]() Are you going to drill the ends of the cracks before you weld it?

I ordered 2 stud kits for my knuckles today threw WFO. Also made the fixture to hold the block down while I mill the shape of the arm into it. Hopefully they will start looking like something in the next day or two.

Had a set back tonight. We didn't figure the off set correctly and cut the long control arm block wrong. A small mistake, ill have to start back with a round piece again, lol......doh

We got the frame repair kit welded on today. I still need to clean it up and slap a coat of paint on it. One more job crossed off the punch list

I ordered all my front steering goodies today. I bought them threw WFO Concepts. I'm impressed with their product line up, prices and customer service. Can't wait to start putting the puzzle together

Got my HAD driveshaft in the mail today.
Jess and his crew really did me right. Not only did I receive it almost a week ahead of schedule, but it cost less than he quoted me.

If you don't mind me asking, what are the details on the driveshaft and what does one like that cost from had? Kinda wondering if local places are poking our eyes out.

It has the Ford style 1 ton flange at the t-case, plus double cardon cv, 43.5" from flange face to center of yoke. It has about 12" of travel in the slip shaft. Its made to fit my 14 bolt ff. It cost me $464 shipped. I've had a lot of problems with driveshafts so I am willing to spend some.coin for a.good.one.

When you buy the tail gate, make sure and grab all the mounting hardware from the donor. Remove all the blazer mounting hardware, the blazer has the area to put Truck tailgate hardware, so pay attention on how it was removed or maybe take a picture. Its super easy.

x2 - Very straight forward. As Jimbo said, the blazer already has all the mounting holes for the truck gate hinges, striker and links.
![]() Any updates?? ![]()

Awesome , and it all just bolts in ? Is there a particular year span to look for ? Or are all the tail gates the same width ?
