Storage area on a trailer

Anybody have any LARGE storage compartments on their trailers? I'm talking like a sleeper type setup. Something you could sleep in if you wanted too with room to spare. Tool storage, spare parts, appliances and a bunk.

In Iowa, I can retag a trailer as a travel trailer which means all the DOT numbers and log books and such no longer apply.

At any rate, what have you built, or plopped on to your flat bed trailer?

This is a view thru the compartment doors under the bed. I had to cut the panels and reinforce a little bit to make it wide open all the way thru. This is the view right after I cut the panels.

This is how it is now. I patched the holes in the floor for refrigerant and water and covered up the exposed insulation.

This shows the hang up closet and a platform for a TV or stereo.

I made a plywood door that works for now. It's not really what I want but the opening is not standard size and I am not ready to hack up the sheetmetal til I have a plan.

There's a guy on Pirate that has exactly the same sleeper. He did an excellent job of installing an RV door in his. He cut the door bottom off and moved some of the vertical crossmembers and reskinned it. Looks awesome.

Mid roof is a standup sleeper. The white one in the above pics is a flattop (even with the top of the cab of the truck). From there you have a midroof (able to stand up in it) and then a condo (really tall like what would be on a Freightliner Classic XL). The condo's are non removeable....at least all the ones I have seen.

I had forgotten all about this thread. Lots of good ideas and images. I'm on the fence... use a sleeper or camper or just build something from scratch.
