How Far forward can I move my front axle on a chevy

I'm building a chevy truggy with one tons. I'm trying to find info on how far I can move my front axle forward if I am runnng full hi-steer on a Dana 60. I am already using a 2wd steering box to get rid of the push/pull steering. I know I could go with a different box from a van or something and go farther but my gearbox is already tapped for hydro assist. Is 4-5 inches the max or can I go 6-7". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

4"-5" is really about as far as you can go with the box in stock location. i think

swap in a van steering box with forward facing pitman arm and you can go even more.. I have one of those in the garage here You may be able to just swap the sector shaft out to the van one since the box is externally the same
