As far as coastal/beaches go there is about 20miles of beach in matagorda that is open to drive on.

The East Cut on South Padre Island is game, but not the entire Island. You WILL get fined if they find you anywhere near the dunes in any type of vehicle. They've come down pretty hard recently, but for good reason...to protect the sea turtles coming inland to lay their eggs. But if you're willing to make the drive to the East Cut about a 40 minute drive going 20 mph you'll be all alone in isolation with some dunes and rocks to climb

They have opened part of it back up to quads and bikes I believe. When/if I ever move back home I will be going up there and start working with the MWR (morale, welfare and recreation) folks to get it opened back up. (Unless someone beats me to it HINT, HINT!!!)

man i am glad it is still open. heard they have a few new trails there now! that place is a blast! I live so far away from most offroad parks in texas and cline is still a good 5 hours away! it is real hard to hit any of them like i would like to.----BRIAN
