What Rotors and calapers did you all use? Did you have to grind the rotors or hubs down at all?

79 chevette rubber lines.
I figure that this cut 70 pounds of that 14 bolt.

Does that include the weight of the parts that were put on? Or is it minus 80 lbs, plus ?? lbs. disc brake kit?

Total savings after the project was complete. I think I had the big drums.

Spent no more than $200 for all the parts, including hoses. My drums had leaking wheel cylinders and worn out shoes, would have spent some of that money anyway.

$ 32 for both calipers ( had 2 for core$)
$ 12 for pads
$ 64 for both rotors
$ 50 for the brackets
$ 11 brass drift
$ 3 brake fluid
$ 34 for hoses
$ 9 for 2 caliper bolts, (had 2)
plus taxes and some shipping.
I'd say $230 for brand new everything.
3 hours of labor. I had to cut and reflare both lines as they twisted off when I took them loose from the backing plate.
Still need a line lock for e-brake and a willwood p-vavle.

Pretty sure they were the wide ones. Here's my H1 wheel with a drum inside.

ive only done one side and so far itrs costed me around $250. thats with the brackets.
i used 1985 k20 rotors, calipers and pads, as awell as the rubber line. its all in the write up

to use 15" rims you have to grind the calipers, i havent crossed that bridge yet, when/if i do, ill do another write up

Of the people I've talked to that have done it, they say it's not a big deal. I avoided it by using H1 wheels.

GM pickup, and yeah, backspacing like 7", I modified the centers to 3-1/2". Just don't like the idea of grinding the calipers. Again, a lot of people say it's not a big deal and there are a lot of write-ups on it.

my biggest problem with the H1 route is that i have 5 15" tsls, that i spent around $1000 on, and if i get H1s i will need new tires again. if i stay with 15" rims i will only need rims. dunno what i will do yet

i did more research and found that if you use a 15" rim with 2.5" of backspacing you should be golden. looks like the big grind is when you use the dana60 with 15" rims. so, i plan on buying some cheap steel 15" rims with about 2.5 " of BS

Doh....

Sorry Mute.....

When you said "to use 15" rims you have to grind the calipers" I instantly started thinking of a front D60. Went back and read the title and such, I was way off base.

Wheel Studs..

Anyone ever replace the wheel studs on the 14 bolt when they did the the disc swap?...My hubs are missing the lug bolts and I was curious on what the part number is to replace them or where I can fin some replacements, so I can get the proper length lugs for the disc swap too..
