Making a radius bend on 16 gauge sheet metal

How to make a radius bend using what you have. In my case 1.3/4" tubing from the side of my buggy.
I placed a bottle jack I had out of my chevy between the floor and upper tub on the side of my Buggy. take up the slack and slide the flat stock you want to bend. In my case I am using 16 gauge metal.

Determine placement of where you want your curve to be. line that up with the center of your tube. In my case the floor. Tighten down on bottle jack so it doesn't slip out. and when you are sure of it. Tighten down another half turn. When or if it pops out while applying pressure....suck can land on a big toe. I know, Thank God for steel toed boots. I first applied pressure using my both hands. That can only get you so far.

I moved on to knee/hip to bend the 90* I was after.

after some paint and tabs welded to it. I now have a removable tail section should I ever need the room to get in their.

Edit. do take note that I placed a welding glove on the top part of the jack. Just incase it does pop out. the welding glove will absorb some of the impact
The front section was 90* bends like the rear shown in pictures above. The middle section was bent to conform to the angle of the Dana 300

Enjoy
