I want to go to Raton sometime...Maybe like we did last year, i cant really stand the FEB river run...Its cool to see all the attendance, but its too much of a mess...
I also want to go drive the alpine loop(probably in my truck) and go to Blanca peak...
I want to try to go with you guys on the ones you listed too...

At this points its all a best guys for me due to work, but you guys keep a good list in advance and Ill make the ones that I can...Its always fun wheeling with the crew, even just to go to take pictures and run winch tackle.

Oh man the alpine loop would be freakin cool. Might could do that one with you Jess.

I might stick around for the redneck prom this year unless we go to Raton again.
Not going to go too many places this year. Probably just wheel a lot local.

I'm planning on doing as much wheeling as time and money will allow this year.

Like RGR said lets make sure to keep a good list in plenty of time in advance so we can plan for these.

I'm skipping the redneck prom! Not worth dealing with he crowd to me. But I'd be in with a Raton trip that weekend.

The way I understand it is you have to go pretty late summer because of the snow. Like late aug. Then it starts snowing again come sepember.

When we used to do it was June and July. Sometimes there were drifts (sometimes deep in spots on the east side near the top or in a basin or something) but they were always plowed through by a dozer or something. I can't ever remember not being able to go thru cause of snow.

Dont know if the state maintains the trails but all those jeep rental places rely on the passes being open so I bet they make sure everything is open that can be.

That area west of Creede is full of all kinds of cool little trails.
Crystal lake, nice and scenic, good trout fishing at the top. This lake is at 11,000+ feet,
Ghost lake, this lake is dry sometimes but the private reservoir above it has a leak.
See the falls and hike down to the bottom, I can't remember the name of the place but it has a monster rock garden that leads down to the bottom of the falls.
The trails above Creede, bachelors loop, Where they filmed the new lone Ranger flick with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.
There is several atv trails in that area. Most are day trips.

Next year....
I have no clue.
Hit the in-laws, Raton, Clayton, Disney, ????
maybe get up to Colorado?
