Back On Track
The amarillo section has been real quiet lately.
![]() Just thought Id help try'n get it back on track without all the hoopla that went on last month. I know several of the locals are starting or completing updates & mods to rigs. Post up some pics or details on how things are going. Ill even pour fuel on the fire by calling a few out ![]() Boulder Jumper: So,whats up with that rig your workin on? Jeromy: Do you have those fancy axles in place yet? Rockchip:Hows about some pics of that backhalf, one link & snazzy SBC?? Bigshow_1981: Im sure you have something up your sleeve.....rumor has it you have a mean rc crawler? Awsome Bill: Could you show us some more of that F-toy?? BTW-good to meet & visit with ya this weekend. ![]() Jeepsquared: what ever happened to that sweet red CJ you had?? ![]() Gorrila: Hows the weather under that tarp??? ![]() ![]() And just to get it started,i just got my hooptie going & seems to work fine. Still some kinks to work out & alot of "other" stuff left to do,but at least i can wheel again after a couple of months stuck on the quad. ![]() |

Not much to update on my toyota....or as Rockchip calls it the "Yotard". Axles are under it and I am waiting on a few more parts before I tear the front end apart to put my aussie locker and rebuild kit in. If someone wants to donate $750 I would be more than happy to throw a set of longs in there at the same time. Left to do on my to do list.
Rebuild front axle. Weld rear axle front shock mounts bumpstops and limit straps sleeve tierod and mount Hydro ram plumb full hyrdo mount orbital cut more floor out for bigger cv shaft mount new bling TRD harnesses and I am sure there will be alot more.

It was cool to finaly meet you Evan and James and although I didn't get to formally meet Zack it was nice to hang out. The F-Toy started out as one of those things I was just going to "whip together". How wrong I was.
![]() The to do list includes: Shocks, mounts, and hoops Front driveshaft goodies drivers side motormount front brake calipers and hoses Tires and wheels in the 37" variety Sponsors? I'm hoping to have it finished by the Oct. run |

Got the driveline mounted and secured. Looking at header options right now. It is going to be a big pain on the drivers side. Probably going to have to be custom built. Its moved to a new place so I should be able to work on it alot more!

The tarp was nice! It's still wet and the mud thats caked under and on my rig is still wet. But my fingers aren't pruned anymore!!!!
That new four door of yours kicks *****. I think the ape is going to get a donation from my other rig and the other rig is going to become a carcass at the local scrap yard. |

I started cleaning my stuff up yesterday. What a mess. I ran the power washer out of gas washing the s10 and got about half the mud off. I think it had about 400 lbs of mud on it, plus another 100 lbs in
![]() I also found some clothes I'd missed in the back of the dodge. Needless to say, they were a little ripe. Reminds me why I hate mud. ![]()

..so without any drama, I have SLOWLY been making the effort to repair my rig since the Labor Day fiasco....
replaced power steering pump replaced serpentine to bypass blown AC compressor drained water from fuel tank, engine, front axle, rear axle replaced front unit bearings replaced front oem locker with ARB to match the rear replaced busted Yukon chromo front axles with Alloy USA's to match rear replaced front X-joints with CTM's removed most of the interior and audio components due to water damage repaired rear ARB supply line due to fire damage replaced bent front tie rod plus various smaller odds and ends that keep popping up due to water and/or fire damage..... fun, huh?! having to repair my Jeep---a couple of thousand dollars getting to eat crow after swearing never to go into the water at the river--- FREAKIN' PRICELESS... well, I have the Covergurl back on the run.....I still have a couple of items
to attend before the run.. A. fuel tank is not venting properly and it takes almost 20 minutes to get 10 gallons of gas in there B.pulls a little left, so another spell up on the alignment rack is needed C. the CB radio antenna needs to be re-mounted D. #5 injector is trying to go away, need to replace it other than that, she is in pretty good form for a run.... |
