Boulder Jumper!

These are emails I have received this weekend about Boulder Jumper a.k.a. Allen Lowrey‏. In order of how they were received. Maybe Kasey can help us out since they have shops right across from each other.

Sat 12/26/09 8:11 PM
News Flash: 8:05 PM Saturday: I just heard that Allen was injured at his shop while torching a barrel. As I type this email, he is being airlifted to the Lubbock burn center because of burns to his legs and in the waist area. There will be a group going to Lubbock tomorrow.

Sat 12/26/09 8:29 PM
She said Allen was conscious and able to walk into the hospital, but there was much concern about the burns below the waist. He was joking that he hoped the hospital in Lubbock would have the football game on tv.

Sun 12/27/09 12:37 PM
Up date about Allen: He is being released from the burn center in Lubbock today (Sunday). His injuries weren't as bad as they first thought.

Im guessing it was one of the 5w20 or ATF4 barrels from here at work, but I could be wrong.

no it was an old brake kleen barrel. yes they filled it up with water and let it sit for awhile but then they drained the water thinking it was all cleaned out. they cut one up about an hour before that the exact same way.

Which is a common method people use for welding/cutting on gas tanks as well.

And tclowrance, Allen called earlier and said he was sitting another day out at least, something about trying to walk when your balls look like overcooked bacon or something.

Ha! That's funny. I'll give him a call.

I've always filled them up and cut them full, never emptied them. It does make a mess though. I know burns suck while they are healing and I feel bad for him.
