Can someone explain the AMARILLO connection here

Please don't take this personal, but y'all are unique up in Amarillo. What is the skinny with Amarillo? Why are y'all so, well, like, er, uh, I don't know how to explain it. Y'all just have some really weird stuff going on up there.

You don't have to be a butt about it. Y'all just have some crazy stuff going on up there, so I was just curious. That's all. Like the water thing. I have nothing bad to say about Amarillo. I'd even like to visit there. So don't get defensive. But here you go, getting your panties in a wad, and then make personal attacks. Nice.

Maybe I jumped the gun and took offense to your stupid question. But tell me what is so "crazy" up here that you are so eager to know about. The weather? Unemployment? Maybe the housing market? Tell me!

Yes, you jumped the gun. In no way am I saying that y'all are bad, or anything along those lines. It's just that I find threads from Amarillo to be very entertaining with a particular twist to them. Y'all talk about the water and strange things happen in the water up there, and things like that. So I was just curious about Amarillo.

Again, in no way was I saying you are bad folks, or anything like that. I just noticed a different tempo of life and was curious, that's all.

Oh, I'm pretty damn proud of my turd. It may look all funny, but it's the best piece of .... I have ever had!

The whole water joke got started when someone on the forum said everyone in Amarillo was on meth. Everyones quickly realized that meth alone couldn't explain some of the behavioral problems so something else had to be to blame. The water soon became the scapegoat. Some of the threads i think you are refering to aren't refering to the drinking water but rather the water in the river that you can drive in. There have been many trucks lost in the river bed and so when someone says stay away from the water it could be refering to the behavioral issues or warning someone that the river is really nasty right now and you shouldn't drive in it.

We have some radicals on here that just talk crap just to see people reactions. They mean nothing by it and get a smile when others get all pissy and a war is started.

Then there was a few that would down right threaten and insult anyone and everyone. They're gone now thanks to Rastus. Most of what we say are jokes. Take it that way.

I have a question for you.....Why is it when (I'm not naming names) someone posts something and the southern peeps always have a rude comment back? Down grading and so forth and nothing is ever said back by you guys but when we talk back (and wee will say something)? Then it turns into us being the Pricks.. Just wondering.

Why would post a comment like that in this section and not expect someone to say something?

I will be the first to admit that Harley and Nick are weird but SERIOUSLY!

I've wheeled with a few of the Amarillo boys and besides the Meth problem they are a fun bunch of guys to hang out with. It's not their fault they have to drink the water so ease up on them a little.

I'm kinda suprised they didn't rip you a new a$s for a question like that. Cheeperjeeper, that's your cue!!!

Good ole EZredsquares
Seems thats how most of the "look at me" threads start out..."you guys are wierd but I mean that in the nicest most respectful way possible"...how did you picture this thread going after that? Was it like this?

If you look around this board you will notice that there are a lot of people from the Amarillo area. This is because of a real nice place to go wheel only 15 miles from Amarillo. With that many people you are bound to get a few crazys and trust me there have been a lot but there are also quite a few real nice people here, people who would do anything to help you on the trail, people who don't like drama...I actually have a way of proving this but why?

In my sig line I have that I drink bottled water. This is just my way of letting people know that I'm not going to get all crazy at the drop of a hat. In reality I am a very easy going person who jokes around a lot. The whole your a crazy ***** cause your from Amarillo has been a hard stain to wash out but I'm trying and you starting up a thread like this just makes it harder. I hope you get the chance to meet some of us wierdos one day as I'm sure we would like to meet you.

..and the weather has been rainy then sunny then rainy again. Have a nice day

Guys you got me all wrong. My question was not judgmental on y'all personally at all. Really. I'm not a judgmental person. I've never met any of you, though I would like to. I'm not ragging on anyone from Amarillo at all.

This thread was all about the weird stuff y'all talk about with the water and what not. That's it. I just wanted to make some heads or tails about it. I did not make this thread to put Amarillo down, any Amarillo members, any Amarillo wheelers, their rigs or anything. It was just curiosity.

If I offended anyone, I truly apologize and offer my sincerest regrets. I'm not a mean person. Nor am I trying to label y'all.

The offroad community up here is very passionate about the river because it seems like every couple years they try and take it away from us. There is literaly nothing else to do around here. While that passion does sometimes manafest itself in a negative way, it is the only reason why we can still wheel in our river and the rest of texas can't .

No problems here bro. I never stayed sitting that long. I had miles to make. Did see one "wash off" in a water puddle once though. WOW!
