the tough truck race will be sunday the 28th. mud bogs on saterday. not sure if the sand drags will be there this year, those guys havnt given a solid answer yet.
also,
dont forget about texas ORV stickers for your rigs. buy them ahead of time so the stupid 'offroad' (TORA) club cant rip you off again this year. they are only 8 buck a piece. you can buy them at lots of places and over the phone through texas parks and wildlife.

Off Road Stickers

Are you 2 defending what they did last year?? I paid there price and was told the money would go to saving the river witch I was really OK with. But I was also told it made me a member of there club WITCH I NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN NO EMAILS NO MAIL NOTHING THATS WHAT PISSED ME OFF. WE BOUGHT 15 TICKETS AT ONCE AND NOBODY HEARD ANOTHER WORD! It also states in the instructions that the tickets are not to be marked up. So what they did was illegal if not immoral. Frickin opportunists.

ok, ok, sorry for calling them stupid. i didnt agree with what they did last year with the stickers. i thought they took advantage of the situation. they were the only people that knew the stickers would be enforced, and they capitalized. yes they do some good stuff lobbying for landuse issues.

The stickers are always enforced down there. You can hit any of the motorcycle/ATV shops in Amarillo and they'll hook you up for $8.

I think they did everyone a favor. At least someone is down there trying to save the river AND provided a way to get a sticker if you DIDNT have one. I am not a member of TORA this year since I already had my sticker, but I dont see any problem with them making you join their club to buy a sticker from them. No one forced you to get the sticker from TORA, this was a service they provided. And they didnt mark up the price of the stickers for those of you misinformed. The stickers were still $8, you just had to pay a ONE time membership fee of $20 for them to sell you one. I cant believe you guys are crying over $20, it woulda cost you more than that just to drive into town, just to find out that the motorcycle shops were sold out of stickers.

My buddy(who shall remain nameless)
called the supervisor of the TPaW
,Scott something or another and asked
about the "legality" of what TORA was doing
with the stickers last year

It turns out that it WAS in fact, legal.....

Moral, maybe not, but the State gave TORA the green
light to sell the stickers only to TORA members...

so, there ya' go.......

So as a member what were or are we as members to expect from TORA??
What did are membership get us??
I Hope the money was put to good use (I'm sure it was).
Don't members usually have some type of contact??
I got nothing not one email not one letter Nada???
Why did they make us fill out all the contact info if they were never going to us it. YA never know I may have donated even more if I KNEW WHO TO TALK TO!
