I have been told that the river will become a fenced park like little sahara dunes. Some new land should be opened up for orv use,There will be gate fee and rangers.I will find out more info and post it.

I have heard the same thing. Things will be changing hopefully for the better. More rangers = better scum patrol.

yea, I don't think a small fee would keep me from going. Maybe it will do away with all the cars that get burnt down there.

I think a fee at the gate would be a good thing, as long as it doesnt turn out like the sandhills in Kermit did. Maybe it'll keep some of the trash out of the river.

Last time I was at the Monahans, there was no fee.....one could just pull into a paved parking area that had covered picnic spots and a few dumpsters, unload your ride and go play........of course, it has been nearly 15 years since I was last there......

canadian river

I belive it would keep some of the Idiots from going down there if they had a small fee. And maybe they would spend the money on things the river needs such as, Bathrooms, trash cans, and things of that nature. I want to see some more rock crawls go on down there.

There will be bathrooms, I was told they will be up by the cafe but I would not say for sure. There is some big money set to be spent down there and large donations from locals like holmes construction. There will also be more rockcrawl events soon we should have a date set after friday.

I thought I had heard a long time ago that there was a $150,000 grant that was suppose to be used for improvements down there.....had almost forgot about it.

Someone bought it and pretty much screwed over all the 4wd people. You can still supposedly take a 4wd out there, but you have to give them two weeks notice, no holidays, mon-thurs., and it's $25 for 5 hours.

I wonder if this is another attempt to limit our available land to play on?
As it is,we have no real boundry to the west. Chicken Creek is the limit to the east. I would like to see a lil more stuff to the north & south though.

Any hearsay on the proposed western boundry? The pipeline? Or worse case, the highlines?

Anybody thought about getting a petition started about getting a speed zone setup around the bridge? Even if they never make it a park, what would it take to get the park rangers to setup that area to prohibit the dumbA$$'s from hauling ***** through there and make them move on to a different area. Kinda like a "No wake zone" only a "no dumb sh!t trying to impress my hoochie chick" crap that goes on at the bridge.
