without giving too much away, the course could loosely
be described as a "horseshoe" kinda sorta.....the start/finish lines will be very near one another...

the stock class will run the course one direction and
the modified will run it the opposite way

the course will incorporate narly rocks, hardpan dirt, deep ruts, trees,
steep grades, loose dirt, deep soft sand, high berms, multiple water crossings
and last but not least, mud.......

in order to prevent as much "pre-running" of the course as possible, the route
will not be unveiled 'till the morning of the race....

competitors will be encouraged to view the course after they sign-up and before
we have the driver's meet shortly before race time.....there will be a time limit for the sake of continuity BUT it will be enough to allow ample opportunity for each driver to complete the course within reason....the time limit will not be revealed until
the driver's meet....

sign-up/tech @ 9am

driver's meet around 11:45 and the race starts @ NOON SHARP

course length is to be announced............

and in the event we have any rigs that really do test the classification
between stock and modified, then there will be a vote by the staff to determine
those rig's placement.....just try and remember, this event is about having fun
in a competitive way, not flogging the whole shebang down with too many rules!

They are having a mud bog on Saturday. There will be a speed pit and a deep pit. No sand drags though.

It was built on a 78 blazer frame streched 8" that makes it about 115-117 somewhere in that area. Sometimes the weard wheel base helps as I'm not in everyone eleses ruts at the same time!!! Its been on 35 boggers for ever now 44 tsls. The rear is an eaton out of a 1953 chevy 1 ton (came with 456's and a detroit) the engine is a poked out 402 now 416 big block, I have been running the same quadrojet since 1994 never have to mess with it. I did just add propane we'll see how that works out, trans is a 350, case is a 203, I like having 2 wheel low! The front after maney years of replacing ujionts axels and the like is finally a good old dana 60 with a lincoln locker. Now ya know.

I'm sure we will (Curt and I) go thursday. The girles may wait till friday not to sure about them. I think I might take the Jeep over to portales to the dairy and feel her out a bit they have a cool sand track over there maybe you and Travis want to drag over for a test and tune???

Cool. Do you have any pics of the frame/body mounts? We're going to put my dads truck on a K10 frame and I would like to see how some others were done.

It will be nice to wheel with Travis and the boys again, and this time they shouldn't have to rescue my little red Covergurl from drowning.......or catching on fire.......
