Canadian River Truck Challenge

sorry, we needed a thread for this, huh?

I have one good sponsor already lined up....Chuck's Auto Parts of Canyon is in......maybe gift certificates for parts, possibly more????

So, you cats let me know if January 3rd is a good time to have a sit down.........
and....we really gotta decide now if we want to do this in Feb. or wait till May like
Rockchip discussed earlier......

Give James with Copperhead a shout. He would probably be in for the sponsorship.

I'd be interested in entering.

well, what if a comp in Feb. were a precursor to the May event?

kinda like a mini-comp to test the waters for interest?

Here is another thought....

save the "king of" comp for May.....

for Feb. we can have a smaller scale "tough truck/real truck" challenge
with a limit on the number of rigs that can enter and hold it on a smaller
course set up......a very difficult course......

.....man............this thread has been looked at over 130 times so far....

BUT.......

..........judging by the lack of responses, I think it is safe to assume there
is no interest in this idea.......only two people wanted to enter not including myself.....

sorry B-Wise and Awesome Bill........

oh, well......maybe in May, then?

There is always the open weekend at K-rocks on the 21st and 22nd of Feb. if no one wants to help with an event down at the Canadian.....I imagine it will be a tad warmer in the Hill Country that weekend, as well....

Not that I would have time to help. But a comp back where it was last year could be an easy setup and fun to participate in. Dunno?

Don't know how much this will help, but I would be interested in helping run an event. My rig will make it to the obstacles but maybe not over them.

Is this gonna be planned on the sand drag weekend, or what? I'm off work if its on the very last weekend in feb., but if its on the last "full" weekend, i dunno if i can make it. I'd be interested in helping also.

the plan thus far is to have a "mini-comp" on Sunday the 22nd of Feb.
which is day two of the Sand drag weekend.....two classes, stock and everthing else......an aggressive themed "obstacle" course that will be timed, with cash payout for first in each class and trophys for the top three in each class...

more info to come.....

I was thinking the event should be closer to the train bridge instead of behind widowmaker, easier to clear a path (and keep it clear of drunks) also, more space all together. more room for spectators, and if the course came down to the river, there could be a balls out sand drag portion like a KOH course. plus theres still some good rocks and climbs over there.
widowmaker gets too crowded. and if history repeats itself, there will be more people than last year. that seems to be the trend.
just a thought, but either way, I cant wait. i have a cheap cherokee that will be perfect for this.
