Just wanted to see if you experienced guys could direct me in a strait direction. I just bought a 87 Grand wagoneer for the dana 44 front and rear.(The rest is up for sale if anyone is interested) My questions are: When buying gears and lockers, what should I be asking for being that there are several dana 44 types? Has any one posted a step by step project like this on-line including needed modification and such? I've done research but still a bit shaky on where to start. These axles are going on a 89 YJ 4cyl. Thanx for your help!
They should both be 30 spline carriers, which is the most popular, so that's easy. When shopping for anything for them, you just order for a '87 Waggy. Do some measuring, as I think the front perches should be GTG as is. I could be wrong. The rear perches will have to be moved reguardless, due to pinion angle. Good luck.
Sorry for not responding sooner, I'll take $200 for both!
