Atvs on the beach, port A

Hey guys I want to bring my 3 wheeler to the coast memorial day weekend, but I can see how something that fun could be illegal. To ride it on the beach would be sweet, but can I? That funky *** 6 tire grader truck contraption can drive there, why can't I? Lol it would be sweet to just ride up the road to the room and back instead of the hot *** walk. Just wondering, thanks!

On SPI, they're illegal even if they're registered for state park use. They've cracked down really hard the past few years because of the sea turtles and to preserve the dunes. Not sure on Port A though.

beach= public roadway. If you cant legally drive it on the highway, you cant drive it on the beach

I see people towing them on the beach but never remember seeing anyone ride them.

I found this:
Quote:
Before riding an ATV on public property you are required to:
Obtain an OHV Decal from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (512-389-8917) and place it on your ATV; and
Complete the fun and informative ATV safety course (Contact the All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute at 1-800-887-2887).
I don't know if i can post a link but here you go:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/msb/atv.htm

P.S Let us know if you follow up with this. And i did see that a ATV is:
Quote:
Propelled with three or more tires in contact with the ground
Thanks

all you need to know
http://www.txdmv.gov/vehicles/drivers/golf_carts.htm

there is some exemptions but I'm afraid you will have a hard time arguing that you are a farmer/rancher riding no more than 25miles while at the beach

and port a golf cart plates are a no go as well for you

Pretty sure the reason is that the beach is astate highway and they don't let you ride em on the freeway either.

Sea Pines and Charlie's Pasture were two fun places to ride and I'm sure you could still get back there, but you could get yourself arrested at sea pines and I'm not sure what the deal is at Charlies.
