Wheeling in Corpus Crappy

Does anybody know of any other place to wheel around the corpus area other than the beach? Don't get me wrong...i love hitting the sand but i wanna see what else is out there. Is anybody down to go wheeling sometime soon?

I would check at the local shops. I have heard of this one place on the south side near an old industrial park where alot of dirt bikes go.

Beachcruiser, did you see the reply i left for you under the meeting and runs thread you wrote on?
Did you happen to by that blazer off craigs list? I know the guy who you bought it from (a cop from APPD)
You live in Portland, how you like it? I love it, other than mosquitos in the summer.

Sorry about that pat....i totally forgot that i posted that message up. Yeah i bought it from the detective from APD.....it was about a month ago when i took it off of his hands. I love it so far, i've had todo misc. things to it since i bought it. The detective was telling me about that spot out by mcdermont....never been out there though. I haven't had a 4x4 in about 2 years so i just wheeled mild stuff with my montero....i use to have 2 Z71's and one fourunner but then i had to get something that got decent mpg. Portland is a nice little town....i've been here for about 13 years now. Yeah it's nice down here except for the mosquitos and the 100+ degree heat.

Closest real wheeling to Corpus is Katemcy. Other than that anywhere else is 6+ hours away.

Ahhhh....I thought it was open to the public. I guess i'll have to stick to the beach....unless i find someone with a local ranch around here.

There is a place up here in Bryan that is just getting started called Brazos Valley offroad ranch thats prety cool, not worth the drive from Corpus though. Shiloh Ridge in Alto is 2 hours north of here, so about 6 hours from corpus, its more of a people watching type place but the wheelin is still prety damn good. Barnwell Mountain is near Gilmer which is about an hour east of dallas and would be about 8 hours from corpus, its badass and is one of my favorites. Clayton, Oklahoma is about 7 hours north of here so it'd be ~11 hours from Corpus and is badass as well. There are a few more places scattered around but these are the only ones I've been to. I would like to check out this Trees place I hear of and the new TMTC park if it ever gets opened.

my opinion, the best place to wheel that is the closest drive from Corpus is Cline ranch. Sick trails.

Cline Ranch seems like it would be a good place to start off. Just have to get a few other guys to go out to hit the trails with me since im new to the whole trail bit. Im just use to the sand at the beach and mud. I also realized that i need to fab up a rollcage since I don't have a full metal top. Thanks for the info guys.

Hey are the tracks the one that leads you down to the bay? At the end of holly where it drops off to the left and goes around the dead end sign and the pile of brush. If so, I didn't know that it had a name.

I used to wheel out here in calallen but since my truck(s) are all broke or unfinished I can't do a damn thing. The train trussels still seem to be the best place out here to wheel from what I have heard. However it is pretty easy when it's dry. Out here there also used to be the river trail, behind Wood River, but now that there is so much new construction under way they have cleared most of that out.

What about mud bridge and charlie's pasture?

Damn I need to fix my rig(s). All of this talk is making me want to go wheeling.

I stopped by samson's place to look at that International truck they had for sale. I saw that green accord's windshield all smashed in and remember thinking...that looks like it was ran over... guess i was right!

Chris

p.s. do you know how much he wants for that international?
