If you don't know the land owner and don't have specific permission to be there, please don't go. Responsible wheeling includes NOT going where you DON'T have specific permission to be. Responsible wheeling is the only way we can keep the legal places we currently have and have hope of obtaining more. Just because "everyone does it" and "there's trails all over the place" and "the cops don't care" doesn't make it legal or right. It's tresspassing.

If you can't follow this simple idea, you are part of the problem. If you don't live near a LEGAL place to wheel and you aren't willing to make the drive to your nearest LEGAL place to wheel, sell your 4x4 and get another hobby.

Please.

Per the farmer that ownes the land " As long as you stay off of the plowed fields I don't care as long as you don't dump trash in the creek" There is only one entrance that you are supposed to use though. One crosses someone elses property.

Yup, leper, his stepson, myself, and a few others are out there alot. I had to go out there yesterday to get a guy unstuck. The local group of us dont like to do things that can ruin something good or get us in trouble. Soon i am hoping to get a clean up run going as there is lots of trash from others that go out and have fires, drink, whatever just cause its out away from the streets. There are also old vehicle parts out there if you look hard enough.

Sounds like permission to me.

Move along people; nothing to see here. All is well.

[Please be sure not to abuse the kind-heartedness of this farmer]

cleanup

I also admire your planned cleanup and you can bet that will have a huge effect on the farmer being happy he let your group wheel there. Hats off to you guys!
There is a guy on this board that constantly has a bag loaded with trash he picks up on the trails. ACprokeith way to go!

When I get my truck back down here to Tx, which should be within the next few weeks, I'd be more than happy to set aside a weekend to help out....

That's right down the road from us. I'm sure I could get a few of our club members to help out with the cleanup while doing a little wheeling.

I will try and get a date for a group of people to help. We are kinda busy this month, trying to get ready for a run to Gilmer for labor day. Brakes, axle swaps, Exo-cages, you know , maintenance items. lol. I'm sure from the responses we will have no trouble coming up with enough people.

Near Frisco

I see this is an older thread but if someone could e-mail me a map or directions and a day a group is goin out to wheel or clean or both I'm in.
I'm sure a $jackson or two for a group would make the farmer

Frisco may be off limits for a while. Word on the grapevine is: someone(s)"READ a$$hats" went out there and dumped EVERYTHING including the kitchen sink. I have not talked to the owner in a while, but I will try again shortly. None of this info is confirmed yet, but I heard some people were out there and they were asked to leave. Don't know why yet. Could be all the new garbage that is out there or mabey they went into the fields. There is also alot of construction right around the entrance. I will try to get confirmation from the owner soon.

BTW Would anyone be up to puttin in some cash if need be to keep wheelin out there?

I will get in touch with the owner within the next week to see whats up and I will get confirmation on what has happened.
Hopefully we can come to an arrangement that will benefit everyone including the owner.
