Where's your favorite legal wheeling spot?

Lemme start by saying that i'm not trying to ruffle any feathers or condone any trespassing with this thread. Just kinda wondering where everybody else sneaks off to do some wheeling. I enjoy wheeling in several local creeks, new neighborhoods that are being built and under a bunch of the bridges/creeks around 75 and 121. The reservoirs in wylie are fun too. What's your favorite place?

I go nowhere illegal anymore. I kicked that habit years ago. It ain't worth the risk and/or the black eye it gives our form of recreation.

My favorite [close] place is Clayton, Oklahoma. My all-time favorite (so far) is Colorado.

I hear ya... like I said, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers. At 6mpg, I can't afford to drive to any of the fancy designated off-road parks. I still believe that RESPONSIBLE off roading can be done without $20 a day parks. BTW I got to go to Cayton once.... was there for about 2 hours to help fix his truck and then go home.

I've been wanting to check out Marshall creek. When I was flying into DFW the other day, I noticed an area about a 1/2 mile south of the airport. Anybody know what this is? It looked like it had some pretty cool stuff.

The place you saw from the was most likely right off 360. Never been but heard good mud, when it rains, okay trails. The last I heard was that the police where trying to crack down on the wheeling there. I don't know if there is alot of dumping going on or what just know that is not the cleanest areas around. Here are some pics of my truck at Mineral Wells, http://www.texas4x4.org/gallery/Mineral-Wells trying to post more rightnow but it is being a PIA.

Also there is a place out here by Lake Worth that I went to once it was not bad from what I saw. Only stayed about 10 minutes before getting tracked down to pull somebody out. Come to find out they live down the street from the owner and they gave me his number. They said that he did not care but would like a heads up when comming. I have never called to check if true but might try this week. Let you know.

Where are yall parking out there now? I have been riding and wheeling out there since the early 80 but have been RIG less for the past 2 years. I know they have been doing alot of construction on the Roy Orr side and have messed that up. Pm me if you want. I would like to go out there again. JJ

the folks that troll these boards see this type of thread name and then use it for ammunition against us trying to open new ORA's

Just to make myself clear, the point of this thread was to find out where everyones favorite local spots to wheel are. I understand why the title was changed and I have no problem with that. The reason I included the words illegal were simply to get everyones attention and to recognize that not all of us go to designated off road parks to get our wheelin fix. Being a good ole boy from Texas, I almost feel like it's my right to drive a big muddy Chevy and to wheel where I wanna as long as it's not overly destructive or infringing on anybody elses property or privacy. So, just to share, another one of my favorite spots is an old rock quarry just north of McKinney next to the chevy dealership. Anybody else ever been back there by the pond? BTW, if any "PETA web cops" see this thread and wanna offer any arguments or suggestions, please just let me find out where you live so I can add your front yard to this list. Thanks, hope I didn't piss anybody off.

And by the way

I called one of land owners out there, he owns the gravel pit and the land just east of it over 100 acres of land, well he said he does not allow wheeling at all and said thanks for asking. He also said if/when he finds people out there he just kindly ask them to leave, came across as a nice man just tired of people disobaying private land. Also talked with the Arlington police and they had me call the parks department, all three citys own land out there, and after two days they got back with me saying
