Jobs in south Texas

Anyone know of any kind of oilfield jobs down south? Sand Antonio area. Have to get away from this Amarillo group....just kiddin! The economy sucks up here something feirce. What I was doing didnt pan out and the company I was contracting for just gave up spending any extra. Flowback, wireline, slickline, production operating. My wife 3 months ago worked for Fesco Petrolium Engineers and was laid off due to supposed non activity out of their yard. Which sucks. So were both jobless and looking to relocate. At this point were willing and able to move just about anywhere. Either south Texas or Colorado. South Texas has some great wheeling spots it seems like and be a great place to break in my new build. Her folks live near San Antonio too so might be kinda nice.

With the Toyota Tacoma coming to the Toyota plant this year, there are plenty of good paying jobs here. But you need to act quickly. San Antonio does look attractive, but it definitely helps to have an "in" with someone to help you find work. If you want to continue in the oil field, there is only one true spot to go, and that will be the coast: Houston around the bend through to the Louisiana line. Best wishes for you!

Thanks man, were real excited about moving somewhere else. We've both lived in the area for 27 years and wanna see something diffrent. I'd love to get out of the oilfield its great money but not reliable for income. i'll look into the yota plant do some searching. Other thing that sucks is i've put in for 40+ jobs and i have a ton of experience in just about every aspect of the oilfield, NO Calls. I've had 4 interviews now and ONLY because I knew someone in the company I had applyed for....so i know what you mean about knowing someone. not what ya know its WHO.

Well from what I hear in the oilfield talk around work is that our division up here in East Texas/North Louisiana is carrying the slack for the Gulf Coast division. Im not real sure the Houston area is the place to be. I can tell you that over here is is starting to get BUSY.....just aint seeing it at the bank yet. Plus you can bring me that tire....LOL!

I'm a Petroleum Landman. We are usually there in the courthouses way before you guys pick up in the Oilfield. If it means anything, we have had large crews working the courthouses around Midland and Cotulla for a while now. Things are definitely going to be picking up in the oilfield soon.

I read alot of threads when someone will come in and say they don't have a job or moneys tight....guys I've said it before and I'll say it once more the Railroad is hireing,..you can average $3200.00 every two weeks...they train you, just apply on line.....go to www.uprr.com go to jobs at UP, train crew, view openings, application, do not tell them if you smoke, it will end your app...now go get a job .....also put in for del rio they will put you up in a hotel for training then you can transfer back to SA ...but other city and states are hireing also...if you are 100 miles from your home they will get you a hotel for two weeks of paid training....if you get a interview you need to PM me for some sure fire info.......L
