KBR Middle East Work

KBR seems to be steadily hiring for lots of different trades here in the middle east (Iraq/Afganistan). Go to www.kbrjobs.com and download a resume and apply for the jobs that are available. It's not a bad job, the pay makes up for the time and distance from home for me.

Base salary is around 80k a year (there is a 84k tax exemption for overseas employment right now and it's supposed to go up the next few years) and you are eligible for a 15 day vacation every 4 months and up to 21 on your 'hire date anniversary'.

Very rare that KBR employees are getting shot at. They mostly work on the big bases and stay pretty safe. There is of course the occasional mortar attack. But hey, that's why the pay is so good. And don't worry, you got guys like me here to protect you

Well, we just got the word yesterday they are going to start reducing the workforce by 5% every quarter. I think I am pretty safe, but there will be a bunch of folks headed home pretty soon.
