12 valve grid heater

Got a project coming up where I'll be transplanting a 12valve cummins into a cruiser. I have been googling grid heater wiring and am not coming up with a good diagram for hooking it up.

What are you guys doing to hook these up? Bigevil,Bruiser?

Did you guys just leave them off and plug in the block heater on cold days? Should I just go this route? I can't plug it in at work so was looking at my options.

I have a truck I can go out and try to trace down wires and I might still do this but was hoping someone might have a good wiring diagram that would show what needs hooked up and what doesn't.

Any help is appreciated!

Let me check my FSM when I go out to my truck tomorrow, it may have a good wiring diagram and if it does I will scan it and email it to you.

In the past I've never had to plug them in, but it doesn't get very cold in East Texas.

I always plug mine in below 40, almost instant heat.

Thanks a lot! I forgot I had got some good diagrams from Gorrila too. I just figured as many swaps had been done using these motors someone had made a user friendly diagram.

Yes sir I always plug mine in too. There were a couple times this year the windchill got to -20 and without a grid heater I'm pretty sure it would not have started when I left work.

I had a 93 Cummings 12v I took my heater grid out cause I was spraying NOS. Never had a problem starting it and if it ever got to cold did just spray a little ether in the air filter started every time
