22RE-22R compatability

Guys, I have a couple questions. #1 question is can you put a carburated 22r intake on a 22re motor? I am wanting to go to propane on my rock buggy. Can anyone advise me of this?

They sell a kit for the 22RE intake.

Dont go with that stupid 22RE propane kit. That is retarted IMO. About 50% of my reason to go with the pane is to get rid of all the clutter in the engine bay........that kit keeps it plus adds the pane BS too. Put a carb intake on it (bolts right up) buy all the block off plates for the fuel pump, EGR, water port between #2 and #3 intake ports from LC Engineering, swap on your carb dizzy and ignitor and bolt that pane kit up. I think Carey is offering free shipping right now on his kits.

Well with the EFI engine you are starting on a good platform since they have a tad bit more compression than the carb motor (pane likes the CR). Take off the EFI intake and bolt on a carb intake....it bolts right up as I said before. On the EFI head there is a water port between the #2 and #3 intake port on the head that has to be blocked off somehow. You can also get rid of the EGR stuff and block it off with this

http://www.toyotacatalog.net/M1WebGe...4-D715971CF42D

Here is the water port blockoff plate I was talking about

http://www.toyotacatalog.net/M1WebGe...0-04C3D6F53818

Being is at is a 22RE you dont need the fuel pump blockoff plate.

You will need the distributor and the coil/ignitor from a carb engine.

You will also need this kit from Carey at Gotpropane.com (first one on this page, not the EFI stuff or the dual fuel kit)

http://www.gotpropane.com/p4.html

You can piece this kit together but unless you have a good source of fittings and hose for this kinda stuff IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I am the king of saving money but it is really hard on this setup. If you choose to build it yourself you will have to have a

Impco CA200 (or knockoff brand like Woodward, etc) carburetor
Model E converter, again there are knockoffs
Impco VFF30 lockoff or use a electric lockoff solenoid like Carey uses in his kits
your high pressure line, fittings, blow off valve, quick connect hose connections, tank brackets and of course tanks. That is about all I can think about really but I highly recommend buying the kit or keep and eye out on Pirate4x4 for a kit someone bought and did not use. Do not use the kits you find on Ebay cause they are smaller carbs and regulators. If you do decide to piece your own kit together there is NOBODY that I know that will sell you the CA200 carb to Toyota intake adapter. You will have to make it yourself as Carey WILL NOT SELL HIS ADAPTER by itself. Good luck and if you need more info just let me know.

Like Thumper said, by the KIT FROM Carey!!!!! It will save you a lot of time and headache!!

BTW, I have an extra carb intake and carb base plate if you can't find one close by. Send me a PM if you are interested in it.
