350 TBI Please Help

Have a 87 K10 pickup with a brand new 350 crate motor. Truck starts right up no matter what outside condition after it has sit for a good amount of time. Problem is if I drive it say 10 miles up the road and cut off and it sits for say 30 min to an hour then it has a hard time starting back up. Takes about three to four cycles to get it to start. I changed coolant sensor just for giggles to see if that would help and nothing. I changed the TPS about a month ago cause it went bad. I dont know what else it could be, truck runs and idles great and has good power just dont like to start up when it has been sitting for a little bit after it has been shutdown warm. I have watched fuel injectors and both injectors have nice even cone spary pattern. Any help would be appreciated.

kinda sounds like it is fuel pressure. maybe pump locking up when running for a few minutes. check fuel pressure before and when the problem occurs. also check spark like dott said!! check it when the problem occurs!!

Could the injectors be dripping causing it to be flooded?

I have checked for fuel leakage at injectors. I let truck run checked injectors and then shut down while shining light down in Throttle body and I seen nothing and injectors quit when truck was shut down. I will check spark this weekend. Thanks to all for your help.

Ok checked a few things today. Went out today and as normal started right up on first turnover after not being driven. Drove to Gym to workout for an hour and just like clockwork took about a minute to get it to start. So once I got to work I let it sit an hour to see if I could duplicate problem again and went out to start and was just turning over like it does everynight. Checked spark and spark was good pulled breather and spacer to watch fuel injectors and gettin no fuel out of either injector. Had a buddy turn it over and I watched and not a drip or anything then finally I seen a little fuel spray and then it fired right up and fuel pattern was normal. So its not a leaky injector letting gas escape to bowl while sitting there is something not giving the injectors gas on startup when truck is warm. Like I said before I have changed the CTS and fuel pump is only a few months old. Have noticed to that in second gear at about 2800 rpms if you stomp gas truck hesitates but if you ease into it does fine. Down to thinking maybe 1. Have a weak fuel pump 2. Bad ignition control module or 3. bad fuel regulator. But out of these why is cold start up not a problem. Thanks for all you guys input and any more help would be appreciated. Thanks

You need to know what the fuel pressure is when its cold and when it's acting up. Just looking down the tb and guessing isn't the way to do this.

Control module has been stated that could possibly be the problem, how does it idle after it does start? Does throw any codes? After it starts. Couple other sensors come to mind I don't know if they would cause that problem though. There is the IAC, and the MAP sensors, like I said not sure if one of them could cause it, but if its an IAC problem it should throw you a code, might not hurt to have some one scan it just to see if there are any codes.

Solved the problem. Actually had two problems. 1st was a weak fuel pump, only putting out about 6 PSI. Changed out fuel pump and then got the ICM tested and it tested good 5 times and bad once, so once was good enough for me so I got another one. With those combined truck runs like it should for a new crate motor with 2500 miles on it. Thanks again for all your guys help. Dan
