4.3 v6 harness cut down

Can some point me in the right direction. Would it be easier for me to buy an already stripped down harness, do it myself or have someone do it?

I assume you mean to eliminate any unused parts of your harness? It really is not tough at all. You will need a detailed set of wiring diagrams and the ability to read them. I have done a few including my rig. I actually hung onto my complete harness and tucked it out of the way so if I wanted to add accessories later, it would already be wired for them.

I say use your harness. You will learn a lot by doing it your self but if it's not your thing, a pre cut harness is easier.

Ive never done it nor do I have any experience with harnesses but I guess worst case scenario I will just have to buy one, where can I get a good set of diagrams

i started to cut it down then threw it all away and did a painless harness. Best option!

You will have to have you're ECM reprogrammed, I had mine done by Tracy at Injection Specialties in San Antonio. She will set it up for you're axle ratio and tire size. Are you using an electronic transmission or older? I just finished my transplant and have done TONS of research on the subject. Let me know 8 you have any questions.
I cut mine down myself, it's not hard if you have some wiring experience. Tracy can also take you're old harness and cut it down for you.

Is this a tbi 4.3 or vortec? Either way it's nothing to be afraid of, a good pinout diagram, and a decent work area, and it will be pretty self explanatory once you start on it.

You can strart by checking this guy's site out, you will find ECM pinout info here. Also you will learn a lot about the GM harness.Blue painters tape and a marker to mark all the plugs will be a fantastic help to keep thinks straight.

I had jims performance cut down my factory harness. He is reasonable priced and can do just about anything you need and is very helpfull.

. After I unwrapped the rat nest. And started checking for pin prints and details on cutting mine down.
I found A Affordable Fuel injection.
Best money I spent. And no old harness plugs or wires to deal with. Nothing like
Sit on the trail trying to find a short in a old hardness.
