454 nv4500 205

I want to put a nv4500 in my 86 k30 dually. It currently has the th400 205 combo. Where do i start besides the obvious petals and column. I have heard some 205 will bolt to the 4500 with a factory adaptor? any help is welcome and appreciated

if your truck has the original running gear it should be a 6 bolt round pattern 205. if it is you can run a gm nv4500 with a 32 spline output with your transfer case. Assuming it is the long input 205 you can get a spacer from advance adapter to make up the difference. Advance adapter and high impact gear are both good companys to call for advice and parts. good luck with the swap, the overdrive will make it much more driveable!

Is there a specific year trans go look for? I use my k30 as a tow rig and would like the one with the low 1st gear.

Thanks

Heres a thread that applys more to your set up, when I did this I used all dodge stuff because it was behind my cummins swap. These guys could prolly help you figure it all out.
