700r4, reverse shift and manual valve body

so, after reading on summitracings website I am under the impression that if I put a reverse shift pattern manual valve body in my 700r4 that I lose my automatic shifting when in drive. Is that correct?

And does anybody have the part # for just the valve body, all I could find on summits site was the whole tranny for $1600

What is the advantage of having a reverse shift pattern? Just wondering?

Or...in drag racing aplications it allows you to pull back on the stick instead of push forward, and the highest gear is all the way back so you don't reach for another and end up in neutral.

All righty... so when all this changes around, what happens to the OD? I understand everything else, and after the way my 700r4 is running behind the 455 I've considered moving it over to full manual. I'm shifting it now on the column 1-2-D, and the OD will kick on occasionally when I put it there. I'm thinking my problem has more to do with TV adjustment, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work.
