whysohigh just gettin started
770 Truck Avenger

I put a brand new TA on my 454, but I can't seem to get it just right....
The motor is fairly stock other than extreme 4x4 cam, rpm intake, headers, mallory dist.... I put a vacuum guage on it to lean it properly, it was running real rich... foulin' plugs. Any one running one of these? Any suggestions would be appriciated. Thanks

Maybe its to much carb for your 454.I`ve got a 454 slightly warmed up and I`m running the 670 with great performance right out of the box.

I'm betting your power valve is either junk or not sized right. I'm betting junk though if this is a freshly rebuilt motor.

Edit; Did this just start happening or has it been doing it since.....

hmmm

Very pleased with my Holley 670 TA. How new is new, they have made major changes in the TA and are AFAIK still allowing you to send in your old TA and they send you a brand new style. BTW the 670 is a little much for my 318 and also the 1st TA I got did have problems but as stated above Holley is making it right on the old style TA carbs.
