AN-8 Fitting to NPT

I just purchased a RCI fuel cell that has the top suction fitting that are AN-8. I am wanting to reduce these down to NPT and run my 3/8" line. Has anyone done this, can you tell me where to get my fitting adn what I need? Anyone better ideas? Also directions on how the tank hooks up would be nice too, I have a carburated 350 so right now I just have a vent and a fuel line no overflow or anything like that on the stock tank. THANKS

Summit probly has them. Or a god place to start. Unless you want them locally.

3/8 hard line or rubber line? Hard line just get some #8 tube nuts and sleeves, slide over the line, flair, and hook it up. Rubber I've gotten some female JIC to pipe adapters from Parker store before.

Edit: acutally you'd need a #8-#6 adapter than #6 tube nuts and sleeves for hard line. #6 is 3/8 #8 is 1/2"

I bought some 90* an8 fittings from summit that were made for 1/2" hose and then reduced it to 3/8" with some brass fittings from the hardware store. I used 3/8" hose after that. Works good so far.

I am using 3/8" rubber fuel line so i think the dayton fittings like the picture above is something that i'm looking for. Then all that I need is some 3/8" female w/ a barb fitting for the hoses. THANKS

Dott, those are exactly what I was looking for. Will the AN-8 fitting allow for a 3/8" rubber line to push on?

Also if anyone can explain what the heck AN fittings are, I am very confused about sizing and all. But I really need to know now if the AN8 fitting will allow the 3/8" hose to push on? THANKS again!

AN stands for Army and Navy standard. They are measured in 16ths. So a 8AN is 8/16" or 1/2 ".

Those are the exact same fittings that I have on my cell. You cannot fit 3/8" hose on them, they are 1/2".

Since there is not an extensive list to choose from, I suspect the dash number applies to both ends.

Then I guess you'll need this in a reducer also. Look for UNB-8-6.

Sounds great guys, I think my current thinking is that I will use the -8AN 90 degree fitting with the barb and then run 1/2" to a -8AN to -6AN hose barbed reducer then start the 3/8" fuel line. On the Vent I can just run 1/2" hose all the way out and Just cap off the return since my engine is carburated. If anyone has better ideas let me know. THANKS
