I eleminate the filter bypass in all the engines I build.

You just remove the oil filter mount, and pull the bypass junk out (a retainer, spring, and waffer). Then drill the bypass hole out to 1/4 inch, and hammer a 1/4 inch freeze plug into the hole.

You can buy the oil filter mounts without a bypass, but why. It only takes about 10 min. and maybe $1 to modify one.

Up Sides: ALL the oil is filtered, none can sneek past the filter.

Downsides: If you run heavy oil (20-50) and rev the engine cold, you could blow the oil filter.

If the filter ever stop up 100% (very unlikely, unless your engine is about to fail) you could blow the oil filter.

This modification will not alter the oil pressure.
