Cable shifters

I know NWF has their triple stick cable shifters and have heard good reviews. What about JB Fab? I sent an email and just received a response as I was writing this. They are very helpful and have a kit similar to NWF, maybe a little more beef for more money. I've searched quite a bit and it seems it's those two companies or build your own. Are there any others I might be missing? I am just having a hard time pulling the trigger at the tune of $400-$500. But I have to decide real quick which route to go. Buy a kit that will still need some minor mods or build from scratch in hopes of saving some green?

I have the NWF triple shifters and they're very nice. My 203 shifter did break or needs to be adjusted as it broke pulling the rig off the trailer. Seems the bracket puts it in a bind. If I didn't have the time, I'd opt for the NwF setup. Or you could always do an air shifted 205

Do you have to run cable shifters? I've put a few sets of them in and they never seem to work as good as a mechanical shifter.

There's not room for mechanical shifters unless I want to have my passenger do the shifting for me.

So where do you source the parts to put together your own cable shifters? Does one place have eveything or is it from several suppliers? I'm going to have to have one for my shifter on my crew for the NP205 and it's just a stock single shifter.

You can get all the cables and ends from McMaster Carr. For the shifter housing, you can make your own or Speedway Motors has some nice pieces. There are some nice housings on the net that I've found for pretty cheap. You won't be able to successfully use a cable shifter on your 205 unless you twin stick. They won't be able to handle the pressure needed to shift an unmodified case.

Bruiser, you might hit up yotaguy as I believe he was going to make his own. He might have a parts list.

How hard is it to twin stick the 205? Do you have to tear down the entire case? I rebuilt mine already, just don't remeber how far in the rebuild it was before I pulled the shift rails out.

It's real easy to twin stick and you don't have to take it very far apart at all. There is a good write up on pirate that walks you through it.

I don't know anything about the company, but here's a link to a cable place that I bookmarked years ago. http://store.controlcables.com/servlet/StoreFront

They seem to have a LOT of options available.

I'm going to take a stab at building a set. There is some good tech over on pirate, just have to sift through some BS and take everything you read with a grain of salt.
