Google.

Or go up to AutoZone and see if they have any books by Smokey Yunick. He's an old race engine builder and knows all the tricks.

IMHO, advancing a cam is a fairly radical engine mod. Not something I would consider for a non-purpose-built rig. I would be worried about over-revving and killing something inside the motor.

Buy an RV cam if you want low end torque. It's safer.

Get a timing light and move your Dist 4 deg.

mark the line on the balancer with soapstone so it will show up in the daytime, hook up your timing light, and change your timing. It's not that hard to do.

If you need a step by step on adjusting the timing on your motor, you sure nuff don't need to jump into swapping a cam without some one helping who has experience at this.

Kenny, he isn't asking about ignition timing...CAMSHAFT timing. As in moving the cam ahead one tooth on the chain.

mykwillis will become famous soon enough
every cam is different. you can't just advance a cam 4 deg. on anything and get power. alot of the time it will hurt more than it helps. there are just to many variables. lobe seperation, lift, duration, etc. feel free to call me anytime if you have any questions.
