Chevy 383 strokes kit?

What would be a good kit to get?

And I'm not motor guy so what's all needed to turn it into a 383 motor?

Thanks for the links Jeff. The first one said from 1969-1980. Will that kit work on a 92 though?

Thats a damn good price for what they are selling and no it wont work on a 92 because you have a 1 piece rear main seal. You can always find an older block for cheap to put together.

I'm guessing I have to get the block machined right?

Re: Chevy 383 strokes kit?

383 is the stroker crank and a .030 overbore.. buy a kit, make sure its 1 pc rear main seal (superior to the older 2 piece design). Junk those tbi heads, the flow sucks on them. Get some good flowing heads (vortecs), slap a good torquey cam in it, a dual plane intake manifold setup meant for the vortec heads, hei distributer, and slap propane on it. You will need to either clearance the block for the rods to clear, or use side clearanced rods. Just be careful what parts you do use, you can very easily build this with too high of a powerband for crawling if you aren't careful.

If you know that you are going to run propane for sure, run 10.5:1 up to 12:1 compression. Propane likes the high compression.

Looks like when I do start this, I just need to call you to. That way it makes more since over the phone.
