clutch help

ok i am just about finished doing a sb350 swap in my 72 fj40. and i think i am having problems with the clutch. when the clutch is completely disengaged should their be and pressure on the clutch fork? i can slightly wiggle the clutch fork back and forwards it by hand when its all the way released and resting on the bell housing. i am using the swap kit from advanced adapters and am using the stock clutch and bell housing from the sm465 bolted to the stock 3 speed tranny. i guess the real question i have is should the throwout bearing have any pressure on the pressure plate when disengaged?

sorry for the jumbled question but i have never played with clutches before.

thanks Jonathan

Rastus has disabled reputation
No, the TO bearing will spin freely on the input shaft of the tranny until pressure is applied via the clutch pedal.

zukidave will become famous soon enough
What type of linkage are you running?
If it's Mech. or a cable then there should
be about 1/8" to 1/4" play in the fork.
If it's a hydro. system then there will
be no play and no way to adjust it.
