compatable tbi swap?

I found a complete 350 tbi engine out of a 93 cadillac fleetwood. would get the harness and computer along with the deal. Ive been told look for 87-92. but not sure if cars would be any different. i want to make sure this would be a good candidate for putting in my 83 k5 blazer. is that a computer controlled transmission? id be running my th350/205.

im getting it for a hell of a deal and need to decide quick. but need to make sure its even worth while.

It should work. They only had minor diffrences in the components over time, such as the type of plugs used on some of the sensors and there were atleast a couple different ECMs. It likely has the programming in the computer for the transmission. You can either have a chip burned to get rid of it or find an older ECM or just run it as is. Right now I'm running my 96 4.3 vortec, formerly 4L60e, with a th350 behind it. The tranny programming is still there, only problem I've noticed is the check engine light stays on, but it seems to run just fine.
