Cummins Question

Got a question for some of the diesel guys. A buddy of mine has a brand new block for a '93 first gen. He wants to know if it is the same as a block off of an '01 24 valve. Anyone ever tried it?

Yeah, I believe the newer 24 valves are all ISB block engines, but that may be just 03-07s. The older ones were just the B model engines. Did he crack a block on a 01 or??

daithi2 will become famous soon enough
5.9 block is a 5.9 block reguardless of the injection system.

89-93 had 14mm mains
94+ has 12mm mains
98+ storm blocks have two oil drains for turbos.
timming covers are different and spray bowls pattern is different..

the 93 block will fit a 01 with proper timming case gear, ect. i assume its staying VP. yes even the 24v head fits on a 12v block.. the blocks are not that much different.
