Ok I know this is likely a dummy question but is there any rail grinding or custom mods need to twin stick a 300? I see lots of writups on it but most of them are shifter installs and I would like a straight answer.

No grinding needed. Just buy or fab up some shifters.

Not sure where to get exact info on where to grind, but I got my specs from jb conversions. Look at their site on the 4:1 instructions and the step is there for grinding the rail. Very simple to do, not much to it at all.

I will show you my Dana 300 setup on Saturday when you come buy, I have mine twin sticked with cable shifters.

There is grinding for a 4:1 but not for a twin stick.


For front digs you have to get you shifters adjusted right so they don't pop out of gear.
You have to take out locking pins to do front digs also.

I have the same shifters and had to grind 1 rail. I would not remove interlocks on the case. I know the 4:1 has case grinding but the rail had to be ground as well.

The grinding is actually to allow front high only. As for removing interlocks IMO not a good idea as you could possibly get 1 output in high and another in low..
