I have the 6.7l, non deleted...I am AVG'n about 15mpg hand calculated with mixed city and highway driving...About 11mpg towing...I put Nitto trail grapplers 295/70/r17 ( basically 33" tires) on it and that drug the fuel mileage down pretty good...I know there are some wild claims on fuel mileage...Some of this I think is due to the fact that these trucks came with 3.73s and 4.10's depending on your build sheet...Im running 3.73's on mine, so it helps with some of the highway driving.

As far as programmers, Ive been doing some research Im leading toward the H&S stuff...Just waiting on my truck to hit 65,XXX miles and then Im going to drop the warranty...

Well I'm at 100k as of last weekend. 3.73 4x4 quad cab long bed srw 3500 6speed manual rolling on some 35" mud tires. 6500# Loaded trailer 600 mile one way 10 mpg @65-70 all highway if I could drop the dpf and get 15-20 mpg I would be extatic.

I have the same setup, just a short bed and auto trans though...I think you could get those numbers no problem, as long as people providing MPG info are making accurate claims after these deletes...

Im thinking about of doing the spyntech hub conversion (way off in the future), just to help make some more increase in MPG's too.

I know there are a few videos on youtube from guys who pulled the parts and show close ups of the stock internal EGR stuff...Its is completely black and nasty, full of soot, and thats whats going back in the engine...I cringe every time I start my truck, knowing that trash is going through an expensive engine...I cant wait to get this crap pulled of the truck...

I have the BADP DPF delete 1st gen kit so i still have a check engine light on since then the new kits are code free. well worth the money even now when i think of what i paid. i ran it with a superchips flashpaq and moded stock intake. when i was on 35's i was seeing 22-24mpg not 24.5 with 37's like the web wheeler said. i recommend doing it to any on the DPF disel trucks and i do quite a bit of them here at the shop and my customers go from wanting to trade in their trucks to actually enjoying their trucks and driving them.

it just depends what you want to do with your truck. the power and milage is there you just got to spend a little money to get it

H & S programmers are real nice to and if you want to match it to a good intake do a S and B CAI they are best hands down.

the best part is making the transmission learn

1. set programmer on HOT and accelerate to 80mph at 25% throttle, then slow to complete stop

2. set programmer on HOT and accelerate to 80mph at 50% htrottle, then slow to complete stop

3. set programmer on HOT and accelerate to 80mph at 100% throttle, then slow to complete stop

i love step 3

so if you have a bone stock 6.7 you would recommend this set up for better fuel mileage and towing?

ive been wanting to open mine up since i got but been kind of scared to do it.

yes because its the best of both worlds you have the power and the economy.

if you tow its awsome cause it has all the gauges built into the black maxx.

side note: if you just want do a basic tuner i recommend the superchips race tuner, with the s and b, and the dpf delete. this combo also has gotten the best fuel economy for a basic setup and also saves you about 600 bucks when compared to the black maxx. but you dont have the shift on the fly option and you dont get gauges

WheelsUp just gettin started
DAMMM..... I got about 5k into my 5.9L CTD, did everything myself or it would be 10-12K, and I barely beat those numbers!!! Now I just feel sick to my stomach

I cant to the 3rd step in transmission training though... my speedo would say 80MPH but the truck would barely be moving!!! I do get a little better mileage with her though.. I average 24-25 mixed city/hwy, and about 17-18 towing, down to 15-16 when towing my 40' gooseneck with 2 rigs, and a weekends worth of gear on it

Re: Dodge 6.7

Ok I have numbers. Long haul from Corpus to Normand Oklahoma with loaded trailer s10 and corvette with dpf 12mpg there. installed dpf delete at my friends house loaded up m1009 and utility trailer on trailer and drove back to corpus 17mpg with just dpf delete no programmer. So an average of 5mpg over a 590mile drive saved about sixty bucks on return trip. Load was slightly lighter aswell could have contributed to increase in mileage.

If you use a Smarty or H&S you dont need bungs, and a exhaust kit from a 04-5-07 will bolt right up, and cost alot less. Just run a 4" kit for $250 plus a Smarty JR and you will have $750 in everything.

That is the cheapest way to do it.

You should gain about 2-3MPG. Most people go from 15 to 17/18.

you can get the delete pipe only (dont need a 4" exhaust its already there) and save another 100-125$

i ran the jr at 100hp every other setting on default, and slipped the clutch the first night, added a southbend sdd3250 cranked the jr up to 4 on torque, 100hp, 2 timing, it will break all 4 loose launching in 4th at 2500rpm

fwiw i went from 14.2 to 17.6 in my 2wd 6spd dually (mixed driving)

Get ready to shell that trans, and turn your timing up to 4, it will help your mileage.
