To double or not to double that is my question!

Ok guys it kinda crunch time for me to decide on the tcase I wanna run in my yota Im starting the drivetrain swap this weekend. For those of you who dont know Ill be running a LT1/"built" 700r4/ and juan tons for axles. I dont currently have a tcase for the truck so herea what Im thinkin.

203/205

Or NWF Black box/205?

Ok guys help me make up my mind what set up and why?

Find a used atlas or stak's. I did a doubler with up-graded shafts all the bs. and still dont have front digs. Do the math on parts cost. Compared to a built after market one. New or Used.

Yeah, what's with this no front dig bs? That only applied to yota cases. Unless I have a miracle 203/205 doubler that is the only one that can do front digs??


For cost, I'd prolly go 300 if you already have the case...then 203/205 if youre building from scratch and then the bling bling as my last choice.

I would say 203/205, it cheaper, it works and if you break there's parts to be had.

I dont have a tcase at the moment all I have is the aluminun adapter to go to the dana 300.

Well I concidered the yota doubler but with a V8 and 40s from what Ive read that probly wouldnt be a good idea. Plus no front digs.

4:1 low however you do it. I'd do a stak. Light short and triple stick already.

The black box/stak sounds cool but for the same or less money I think you can get a 4 speed atlas for around $3500. But on my budget thats a massive amount. I might have half that in that in the whole truck so far.

Get the adapter and go with a yota doubler. Then upgrade to 4.7's when you can and when you get another 3-400 saved up then put front digs on them. My next thing is putting front digs on my yota doubler

Hey why dont you buy you a Atlas and let me try out that doubler setup? The 700r to yota adapter and the doubler adapter are about $800 by them selves. I know this aint gunna be dirt cheao any wich way I go.

I'm a little partial, but I say 203/205 doubler if you have the wheelbase. What about a Klune/205? Moneypit had that in the Mall Crawler and it worked great and at the time was cheaper than an Atlas.

If you decide to go klune make sure you have the 6 round pattern so you can avoid the extra adapters. Not sure if you need them for the black box.

The black box has an extra support bearing. I looked at the Klune. Black box was cheaper and (supposed to be stronger).

What do you want to do with the truck? You may not need a doubler. I put a black box in mine and it's cool but I don't think I would spend the money on it again. Using the truck the way I do. If the front dig thing isn't that important just put a 241 with a SYE and call it good. 2.7 to 1 stock.

Honestly I would rethink the Stak, especially the 3 speed monster box. They have a rep for popping out of mid range. Huge thread on pirate.
