Doubler question

I have a NV4500 mated to a Dana 300 the adapter uses the standard 6 bolt round pattern to mount the t case and factory spline count on the d300. I would like to put a doubler in my truck just not sure what if anything will work any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Box4rocks from d&d machine. It's doubler using 231 or 241 for front case. Really you just use the planetary setup an they have a full billet case it goes in.

Does dd fab have a site I can't seem to find one.

I like your double 205 thread but I really don't wanna swap outputs on my 4500 again so I don't know how I would mate a 205 to it. It is currently 27 spline? I think whatever stock jeep d300 is

I've got a np205 27 spline input if you need one. Pretty easy to swap

Someone on here had a toy case to D300 setup for sale on here.

Or do the 231 or 241 to your d300. Or just do a 4 to 1 gear set.
Whats you mean riding style?
If i had a granny gear i would not need my double low. It s just to low with stock toy t-cases and tb-350 auto.

Assuming the nv4500 is from a gas dodge truck, it would be 23 spline, which is stock Dana 300 spline.. Could be 32 or 29 though if someone swapped inputs in the Dana 300.

The nv4500 came in a 2wd Chevy but I swapped outputs to I belive the dodge half ton 4x output so it would mate to a d300. I don't want to do tcase gears because I don't like having to use the low gears all the time just want them there as a option. As far as my ridding I do alittle bit of everything but mostly trail running.
Rock ram I assume you are referring to the gearing in your truggy being to low but you have 6.72 axle gears I only have 4.10's

In my old DD trail truck I ran a 318/nv4500/hd231/4.56 with 37"s. in first and low it was like doubler low. So i did most trails in 3rd low. That's whats nice about a 5spd.

This then later on add 4:1 to your 300 for more gearing for when you need it

Right now most trails I run in 2 with alittle 3rd but first just isn't slow enough for the technical stuff that I've run into. My nv4500 came out of a 02 silverado I've never looked to see what first gear is in it but I don't feel like its near as low as the first of the nv4500 in my dodge. I think I will be going with the box 4 rocks it seems like the best option for my set up. Thanks a lot for everyone's input.

First gears ratio for nv4500.

Chevy is 6.34.1

Dodge is 5.61.1
And i double checked them on advance adapters site. I thought it was the other way around.

I would do the low ratio math. Before you get to low and can drive though your brakes. I had that problem in my rig with the 5spd and doubler.

Hey one thing to make sure your first box low isnt lower then the back case. Or you'll start poping shafts or gears.

Pretty sure only the early GM's are the 6.34.

Mad Rooster has the same doubler as D and D. I have a mad rooster setup. Looks pretty clean.

Can you explain more what your talking about with the problem of the front box being lower than the rear?

Not sure I have heard of that issue as there are many doubler combos where 1st case is lower than the second. RUle of thumb though is to make the 2nd case the lowest gear of the 2 that way you arent over stressing the 2nd case with the torque multiplication on input. Another option for you would be a 203/300 combo. That would give you a roughly 2:1 low on the 203, 2.62 on the 300 and roughly 5.25 with double low. Gives a couple of options where as the the 231 and 300 are both 2.62 low, and the 241 is 2.72.

I understand that much but still seem ignorant as to how I would mate the 203 to my 6 bolt round pattern trans.

The issue is running front case in low, rear case in high.

Not sure on the marry. Maybe advanced adapters?

NOt sure about the 205 adapter but I'm pretty sure the 231 is the same bolt pattern as the 300.
I've got a 231/300 doubler behind a C4 with an AA adapter to mate the C4 to the 300. But the 231 is bolted to the adapter. the 300 on the back of the 231 doubler plate. If you were to put a 4:1 in the 300, it would give you more gear options and avoid the redundancies that David was talking about

Now your down to weight and cost of adapters.

I would good with the 231 or 241 to your d300.
