Well I went hunting and wheeling all last week and my
ride ran awful. couldn't get enough air at the altitude I was at
with my carb. Overheating and cutting out isn't real fun when
you could roll it a hundred times back down the mountain.

So what EFI system is the best/simple for a 351m circa 1978?
my ride is primarily used for rock crawling but do take up in the
mountains once or twice a year.

If you got the dollars Edlebrock makes a real nice setup. My bud just installed one on a CJ8 with a 360 and it's definitely not the same Jeep anymore.

I've got a Holley Projection to be installed on my M880. It was pretty reasonable and it looks really simple to install as well. Hope to have it on by early next year and do some testing with it as well.

I used the holley system on a 305 i had in my 48 willys
couldn't ever get it to run as strong as it did with a carb.
but it was for sand draging. finally just sold it.

Yeah, the one I have is only good for 250 hp. They make some for bigger HPs, but more dollars.

i love my projection it never floods out and runs much stronger than my carbs did .as long as you can keep fule to the pickup in the tank. it is pritty finiky when it comes to setting it up. if i had the money i would go with the Edlebrock injection. the holly rocks for a trail rig and they are easy to find second hand for cheep

My TBI came out of an '87 Suburban. Bought the whole truck and swapped engines. Bought a harness from Affordable FI. System works great. Overall spent $1100, but after selling off all the leftover parts, the project only cost $100!
