Engine Rebuild
I dropped my AMC 304 off at the machine shop today. They checked out my block and said they recommended boring .040 over. My question is, will this make a noticable difference in power based on a larger dispacement? Just wondering. The engine was really tired and really needed a rebuild. Now I've got to pulled the transmission and send it out.

No, but you have to look at it this way. You would probably not notice it at all in the old seat of the pants method if you went from a stock bore (new) to a .040 overbore. But yes you will feel a noticeable difference going from wore out to .040 overbore.....I am sure you knew that!

Yeah, that's what I thought. I can't wait to get a fresh motor back in my Jeep. It's killing me to see it just sitting without a front end. I havn't been wheelin' since October!
