Ford 6.0 Fuel Mileage

I've been less than thrilled with the mileage of my new SD Ford. Granted, it's auto and 4x4, so it shouldn't be as high as my old 2wd 6 speed Dodge.

5500 miles now. Since day one I've thought, "those tires look a little low, but they're radials and this is a heavy truck." One SHOULD be able to safely assume that something like tire pressure is 100% correct when you drive off the lot. But...you know what happens when you assume.

I finally got around to actually checking pressure a little bit ago. Door says 75 lbs each. All four tires were at exactly 60 lbs. Not unsafe for normal driving, but 20% under recommended pressure is definitely enough to effect fuel mileage. They're dang sure at 75 lbs now!

Door jam pressure for that set up is more for towing heavy loads ... we keep none ltowers at lower pressures here also al remember for EPA and MPG most Auto manufacture teat at 55MPH so if you go over 65 your milage will drop very quickly

You mean it's okay to drive under 75?

I drive the Ford same way I drove the Dodge. I'm not comparing ratings, I'm comparing experiences.
